MIGRATING WEST--

I feel like a bird. A Canadian goose migrating to a new home, to find their needs.

Tomorrow morning I will be waking up at 4:30 to depart to the Toronto International Airport. Catching my plane at 7 am, I will be headed to Vancouver with a Starbucks green tea latte in hand. Arriving in Vancouver at 9am, their time, I am going to be catching the ferry over to the island with some friends. We are going surfing along the coast of Tofino for several days before spring snowboarding begins. Pitching a tent on the beach and renting surfboards for 3 days, three close friends and I will begin our adventure. Fingers crossed we get hot dry weather, and cook our food on the campfire good enough. We will be stopping in and visiting my aunt on the way back to Vancouver. I am hoping she cooks me a good meal because I am only bringing $135 for food, for the two weeks I am there. (I am planning on eating oatmeal three meals a day) Then we are heading for Whistler, where the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival will be happening. Professionals from all over the world that I haven’t seen in months are going to be reuniting, so I am very excited to see some good friends who have been travelling all winter. I am still unsure of where I am staying, which really makes this trip an adventure. I have four or five options; however several of them include hitchhiking, sleeping on floors and zero blankets. On April 22, spring passes go on sale. Two hundred dollars for unlimited spring skiing and snowboarding. I am super excited because British Columbia is still getting snow dumped on them. Hopefully I will have a couple days of fresh powder while I am there to play in. After spending a week and half snowboarding all day in the warm spring weather, I am hoping to be satisfied with my year of snowboarding.

I am beyond excited to leave. Only 18 hours until departure time. Wish me luck everybody!! I will see you again in 2 weeks. Happy Writing. J

Ps. Below are some classic tunes I will be listening to on my iPod while on my trip. Check these bands out, I am sure all of our parents are familiar with them.

"Take Big Steps"
       - Taylor Bull

This is my favourite quote in the world. I have been saying it for years now, and it wasn't until a couple weeks ago that I realized it was not a real quote. It's author is unknown. Therefore, I have decided to make this quote my very own. Take big steps everybody, because the bigger steps you take, the farther you will go. :) Smile.

Art. The music to our eyes

I found this video online, and it really hit my creative side. This type of art is different, and that's why it is so spectacular.

BurntSun.

A simple, moderately severe sunburn damages the blood vessels to such an extent that it takes four to fifteen months for them to return to their normal condition.

NO Sunscreen is waterproof.

I was out snowboarding yesterday ( No Surprise) and I did not realize the power of the sun. I let my blonde locks flow in the air and wore only sunglasses and I was a changed person this morning when I woke up. First of all, I look like rocky the raccoon because my entire face was exposed to the sun, except my eyes which were covered by my shades. I though it was a brilliant idea all day, as I did not expect the suns rays to make it through the cloudy sky and onto my fair winter skin. Secondly, I look quite similar to an apple because my face is a vibrant red colour. I have been living in Aloe Vera the past day, and I'm trying to figure out a solution to my white eye problem. I would like to say a nice "Hello" to the wrinkles I expect to see in my older years. Burning you skin is a very dangerous thing to do. It doesn't only make you look funny for a couple days, but it also raises you risk of skin cancer and skin developments such as brown spots and wrinkles. Even if your not burning, but becoming tanned, without the protection from sunscreen, your skin is being damaged. Protect yourself from the sun, so you don't end up looking like me! - TB

FACT: a sunburn is the result of your DNA getting damaged

In Reality

Our World cares as much about the devastating earthquake in Australia/New Zealand
as they do about Justin Bieber's New Haircut.

f.in.ishe.d.

Our lives are made up as a gigantic maze. We enter our first maze at birth, the maze of our childhood. We enter another maze when we start school, the maze of our school life, which gets harder and harder. We intertwine with mazes  around us through relationships and friendships. As we grow older, our mazes become more and more complicated. We find pathways, short cuts, options and dead ends. A maze is what life brings us.

Throughout life we find pathways, or opportunity's. Opportunity's bring us new mazes in life. Without opportunity's, life may be dull and uneventful. An opportunity is the colour to a black and white painting. The glow that brings new chances and memories. Through opportunity, you meet new people, learn new things and share new moments. Without pathways like this, life would be slow, and your journey through your maze would be still. Still until you come across a shortcut or a fork in the road. A shortcut is a choice, a choice that can help you for the good or for the bad, depending on which direction you go. When you reach these turns in your life, you must take chance to succeed further. You never know whether turning left or right or going straight, will take you in the wrong direction or if it will push you further towards your future. In our student lives right now, we are being faced with decisions. do we turn right and go to University. Do we turn left and get a Job? Or do we continue going straight for another year? We are being faced with these many decisions and we must take chances in order to move on. No matter what option you choose, there is always a new direction to turn down the road. If we reach a dead end, we must lift our chin up high, turn around and take a pathway. Although dead ends are though, we cannot sit in a rut with no where to go. Moving on and finding our way throughout the path is important. Life must go on in a positive direction.

Although we do not have a map to our puzzle of life, or answers to our questions, fighting through each pathway is the only way we can make our lives better. Cherish each pathway and live through each cornor. We have one pathway so lets make it the greatest it can be. <3

What is Friendship?

A friend is someone you love with your entire heart.  A friend is always there for you when your down. A friend makes your day brighter. A friend loves you no matter what you do. A friend hurts when you hurt yourself.  A friend knows your deepest and darkest secrets.  A friends understands your family.  A friend knows your favourite foods. A friend knows your weaknesses. A friend enjoys your company. A friend always knows what to do. A friend can always make you smile. A friend believes in you when others don't.    A friend can listen. A friend can talk when you cant. A friend shares all the good times. A friend shares all the bad times. A friend cant lie about the truth.  A friend lives through your stories. A friend cares with their whole heart. Friends are real.

Reality Surrounding Us

The Ottawa International Airport was awarded for having the best customer service in the world ,for it's size category. We as Canadians should be proud that our Capital city was honoured. WOO Canada!

This is a picture of a hospital room in Iran. The Patient was just brought from the ambulance into the hospital room where the doctor pronounced him dead. Comparing this picture of a hospital room in Iran to the ones we have in Ontario makes me extremely grateful for the health care system we have.

This is a picture of a building in Haiti exactly one year after the devastational earthquake. Imagine what the entire country looks like. This is a Major stadium downtown.

Lady Gaga arrived and came down the red carpet in this egg like structure.

This is a birds eye picture of Afghanistan. Is this what you expected it to look like?

Planet No Entertainment.

What would the world be like if we had no sense of entertainment? Without Entertainment our lives would be emotionless. Entertainment brings us the feelings of joy, love or laughter and many different memories. I can not imagine a single day without emotion. Entertainment in today’s society comes in many different varieties. There are literally millions of different things people do to entertain themselves. Here are some things I do to keep my life eventful and entertaining:

Jokes Snowboard Travel Watch Movies Dance Cook Friendships Sports Blog Run

The word entertainment to me, always brings one thing to mind. Many of you probably didn’t think of this as a source of entertainment, but it is one of my favourites ----> childrens movies. I absolutely love classic children movies. Whether they are cartoon or not, I have a selection of kids movies that I could watch over and over again. Although I don’t spend much time watching these movies, when I do, it’s a great source of entertainment. My favourite Children’s movies are:

Madagascar Racing Stripes Finding Nemo
The Fox and the Hound The Lion King Charlottes Web

These movies just make me warm and cuddly inside. Their fairy tale endings always make me so happy, which is why I like this genre of movie over any other kind. It is very hard to find someone who does not enjoy a good childrens movie once in a while. Kids movies are simply the best. They have just the right amount of action, comedy, romance, and thriller going on throughout them. These movies are motivated towards kids, so bring out the child inside you and see just how entertaining these movies are!!!

Oh Canada- Our home and native Land.

Being raised in a world of media, I can’t help but hear about the disasters occurring in other countries. We have the great floods of Australia, the hatred in Egypt and the Poverty in South Africa. And what scares me the most is that this is just three issues on a list of hundreds. I am so grateful for the country I live in because of the beauty and the respect we have from our neighbouring land. EVERYONE LOVES CANADA.

I have been from the eastern coast to the western coast and back again numerous times, only to find myself falling deeper and deeper in love with my country. I have always lived in Ontario, however I have been lucky enough to make it all over Canada.

Ontario is an amazing province. We have the most amazing scenery up around the Sue Salut Marie, ThunderBay area. Yet, downtown Toronto is known for its upbeat classy city town. Although Toronto can seem rough, it does have its classy side. This picture on the left is a photo of downtown Toronto. You can compare this photo to downtown New York or Miami. Not to mention the high class shopping  you can find downtown! New Brunswick is another one of my favourite places in Canada. I have a cottage there on North Lake, which is a lake on the border of NB and Maine. It is the most beautiful place I have seen yet. The lake is always warm and clear, the sun is always shinning and when a storm rolls in, it is absolutely spectacular. Every night the sky lights up with different colours, and its hard to imagine yourself anywhere else. British Columbia. My Home. My Future. I know I am going to live in BC at one point in my life. I spent much of my summer there last year, and fell deeply in love with the environment I was in. I first experienced Whistler, which was the most beautiful little town I have ever been to. It is literally a village on the bottom of a giant mountain, surrounded by lakes and rivers and more mountains. CRAZY. The town was so fun too! Filled with people from all over the world, mostly Canadians and Kiwis, and it is always busy. 24 hours, 365 days a year. Not to mention the party scene, which gets quite out of hand sometimes. ;) I then travelled on my own to Downtown Vancouver, which was the coolest city. The fashion surrounding me was unreal, and the buildings were absolutely fantastic. ( If your ever downtown Vancouver, make sure you check out the library and japadog) I then hopped on a ferry to Vancouver Island. The coast is fantastic! Surfing is amazing, and the town of Ucluelete was unlike anything I have ever seen before. The town is located 2.5 hours from a big city, separated by water and mountains. It is run and owned by hippies, and no chain restaurants or businesses are found there. Most of the food is produced  in the backyards around you. Such a fantastic town, much like most of the Province. After experiencing so many places around Canada, it makes me want to travel and experience more. OUR COUNTRY IS AMAZING. Before setting off and exploring the world, get a taste of your own land. Trust me, there is much more than you would expect out there! LOVE TO MY COUNTRY. xx

Tea for Valentines

"Valentines should be the day for hate,
and on the other 364 days you should celebrate love."
-Ashton Kutcher

This year on my day of hate, I would not like to celebrate it more than with a lovely cup of this wild cherry sontu tea. Everyone has a comfort food, and mine is most definantly tea. Spread the love. xx
